There are many questions swirling around communities all over the world about the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s not unusual for people to have questions regarding a new medical practice put into place on a global scale. A global pandemic, like COVID-19, is not a regular occurrence. Creating a vaccine in record time by multiple manufacturers for global inoculation is not a normal occurrence either. Keeping this in mind, the most common concerns seem to be about their safety, side effects, and risks.

Dr. Seema Yasmin, MD at the Stanford Center for Health Education has shed some light on the COVID-19 vaccine topic. Here is what was shared about the Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines. According to Dr. Yasmin, when it comes to side effects, allergies, and death, keep this in mind:

Side effects:

After receiving both their first and second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, most people reported feeling fine. The most common side effects that were reported, were those similar to a flu vaccine. Some people experienced an achy arm, headache, and fatigue. These symptoms should disappear in 1 to 3 days.

Allergies:

There have been very few allergic reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine. Of the 14 million U.S. vaccines that were administered, only 62 people reported having an allergic reaction. This breaks down to about one in every 220,000 people. Most allergic reactions will occur immediately after the vaccine has been administered. For this reason, it is good practice for you to remain in the clinical space for 15 minute minimum.

Death:

The number of deaths associated with the vaccine has been none. This statistic accounts for the 208 million people Who have been vaccinated worldwide. Deaths occurring up to one month after receiving the vaccine, were determined to be related to other causes.
