“The happiest people in the world are those who feel absolutely terrific about themselves, and this is the natural outgrowth of accepting total responsibility for every part of their life.”

~Brian Tracy

Hi everyone. I want to talk about the term ‘create your own happiness‘ a bit more. Do you ever feel like someone else is making your decisions for you? I am sure that everyone has felt like this at some point. This year I made it my goal to stop allowing other people to control my life.

Usually, I would just go along with someone else’s idea, or allow them to advocate on my behalf. But this year I made it my goal to take that control back and stop allowing other people to decide for me. The reason I really like the phrase ‘create your own happiness‘ is that I realized only I know what I want, and I know what I need. I got tired of allowing so many people to control me.

It’s time for all of us to take that control back and say, no, I can make my own decisions. We can’t keep letting people decide our destiny.

Growing up I had friends who would tell me things like, “Oh… you want to act? That will never happen.” Or my vision teacher told me that I wouldn’t be able to make it into a four-year school because certain grades weren’t up to par. We all have our own dreams and goals, and it is important for us to decide what we should do.
