Beauty Editors Note:

One of my Wednesday night routines is watching YouTube HSN’s Beauty Report. In a recent episode they were talking about products for summer Beauty. So I decided that I would write about five products that I’m using for the summer and share with you all. You might want to give some of these a try. Just as a reminder any product that I talk about is based on what I select and purchase on my own. Happy summer! Dana

Beekman 1802 Pure Goat’s Milk Facial Cleansing Wipes

A package of beauty cleansing wipes on a table.

This product is new to my beauty arsenal. I’ve tried a few facial wipes that have been on the market and haven’t really liked them that much. These will definitely be a part of my Beauty rotation. For one, they’re large wipes saturated with product. Secondly, they don’t sting my face. Some of the ones on the market kind of make my skin feel a little burning and dry.

These wipes are perfect to refresh in the morning and when you are too lazy to do a beauty cleansing routine at night. In addition, you can use it to freshen up on these hot summer days and keep them in your bag. You can make these wipes even more economical because they are large enough that you can cut them in half. Who doesn’t like to get the most stretch out of their beauty products when they can.

Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer SPF 47 Protect and Perfect

Glass jar of beauty face cream moisturizer for sensitive skin on chocolate silk fabric.

This is a product that is heavily in my beauty rotation regularly. It’s my moisturizer and foundation. I am a minimalist when it comes to wearing makeup anyway so why be bothered with heavy foundations for the summer. Eek can we say suffocation?

I figure this product does three things: moisturize, gives me a nice little glow, and if you’re into it sun protection. Now I must admit I am not a big sun protection fan for reasons I will not go into here. However, I suggest if you’re going to wear it, at least let it be mineral-based which this one is. I’m not a fan of chemical based sunscreens at all. For one I find them too heavy, greasy, and they break me out. I also mix this product with a little grapeseed oil which gives me an even nicer glow and boosts the hydration a little bit for me.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimmie Brow + Volumizing Fiber Gel

This is my go-to easy brow product. I am not a big eye makeup person at all but, I do feel my eyebrows. Over the years my eyebrows have thinned out from waxing etc. I feel the appearance of a fuller brow gives a more youthful look.

If you can brush your eyebrows you can use this product. If you’re blind or visually impaired this is a product that is easy to use.

Here’s how to brush this product in the direction and shape of your eyebrow it will feel slightly wet going on. Once you have applied it, take your finger and smooth over your eyebrows just to fill in any spaces and lay your brows down and you’re done.

You don’t have to worry about having a steady hand using a pencil or brow powder or anything that’s more complicated. With this product you do not need to be a makeup artist in order to use it on yourself. It gives you that full brow look and makes you look more polished.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm in Pomegranate

Homemade natural organic lip balm in 3 lipstick containers and one pot on natuarl wooden background and lavender for decoration.

Now you have heard me mention about this lip balm in previous posts so it’s no surprise that I’m using it in the summer in place of heavy lipstick. It feels good on the lips, it smells good, and you get a hint of color real easy no-brainer. I’m telling you, you’ll find these lip balms in my purse, pocket, and my main makeup case.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Unscented Body Butter

Homemade coconut and roses body butter in a glass jar.

This is another product that is in my rotation regularly as well. It’s just in the summertime I usually don’t layer it with one of my natural oils i.e. avocado or grapeseed oil. This is a multitasker for me as well. I use it as a facial moisturizer even though it wasn’t designed for it.

A lot of people use it as a facial moisturizer; for me, it doesn’t break me out and it gives a nice glow to the face, no need for makeup.

I’m all about good skin care and taking care of your skin. I look at makeup as an accessory not a necessity. The hydration of this body butter holds on my skin a lot longer than typical lotions do. I don’t feel like I have to apply lotion later on in the day because my skin feels so dry. I also use this in my hair for a hair cream that gives my hair moisture.
