Presenting Blue Awning Yoga & Wellness
Editor’s Note
Several years ago I was honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh (BVRS). So when Erika Petach, President of the organization contacted me to ask if I’d share their news about the Blue Awning Yoga & Wellness Studio I was happy to be of service.
Early in my sight loss journey, I utilized The Access Technology Program services provided by BVRS. For me, what was great about their services was their flexibility and ability to meet me where I was during those early days. They were a lifeline! A trainer came to my workplace and opened my eyes to the tools and resources necessary to sustain my employment.
Anyone, regardless of their circumstances should not be placed in a box of conformity based on what we think they can or cannot do. BVRS understands this which is why they are so successful in helping people affected by sight loss reclaim their lives. Afterall, independence through rehabilitation is what they are all about.
So coming full circle from consumer to serving on the Board, it is my absolute joy to share this exciting news with you. Enjoy! ~Steph
