Meet The Faces of Bold Blind Beautiful & Accomplished Women
Representation Matters! Bold Blind Beauty believes that “Real Beauty Transcends Barriers” and February’s cover model, Mady Amirah, exemplifies this belief. Mady is beautiful, intelligent, and fearless. Skilled at many things; she has her bachelor’s, is working on her master’s, loves paddleboarding, snowboarding, biking, bowling, ice-skating, and recently took up roller skating.
Last year we featured the first photo of Mady posing with her white cane and while this may seem like a small feat it was not. For anyone teetering between sight loss and profound sight loss, requiring the use of the white cane, acceptance is significant. Since February is recognized as Low Vision Awareness Month, we felt Mady’s wise words on challenging systems very appropriate. Enjoy! ~Steph

Following is personal and empowering insight from Mady:
“The more adaptations we make to make the world more accessible for persons with disabilities, the more people will be able to participate in the things we love. Once we stop doubting persons with disabilities and start challenging the systems in place that create barriers for them, the more inclusive our world will be.”
