Longing Luscious Lips? Here’s How
Even if you’re, not a makeup kinda woman I know you have worn lipstick before. Lipstick is one of the most popular items in the cosmetic world, and it’s even recession proof, lol.

In Mary Kay we have our matte wear lipstick, True Dimensions, also, my personal new favorite is the Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick. It gives a little shine but not too much and it’s perfect for holiday parties or events.
So let’s break down the different types of lipsticks and why you would want to wear different ones together.
- Lip Gloss
- Lip gloss is one of the easiest ones to use and apply. You can generally get away with lip gloss when you are young all the way to your more experienced years.
- Lipstick Tubes
There are different types of lipstick tubes ranging from a matte finish to a super shiny finish. Your skin type will depend on what type you would want to use.- For example. If you’re a super oily person and your skin feels shiny you might want to think about using matte wear lipstick.
- Lip Stain Lipsticks
There are some pros and also cons to lip stains. Make sure you do your research before choosing this one. - Lipstick Additions
- Lip Primer – holds the color longer and provides protection for your lips at the same time.
- Lip Liners – used for outlining the lips and to keep lip color from feathering. For me as a blind woman, I find lip liners to be a pain so I don’t use them. That doesn’t mean you can’t if you want to.
Layering Your Different Products
When you layer or mix different colors it can give you a different look and it can be a lot of fun to mix and match. For example, you can start with a lip primer, then add a matte wear lipstick and then add a lip gloss to finish it all off.
What colors look best on you will depend on your skin tone. Reds and pinks are the most common for sure but now there are so many different ones its crazy.
Personally, I tend to be a red lipstick person. While I have tried pinks, I just don’t think they are flattering on me.
Now I do mix it up for holidays or special events. Right now Mary Kay has four new amazing super popular lipstick colors (featured image). These colors will be seen in a lot of different companies but Mary Kay’s are the best. Not that I am biased, lol.
For My Non-Lipstick Ladies
I recommend using a lip balm that contains no alcohol. The alcohol in popular chapsticks will dry out your lips instead of hydrating them. I like to put lip balm on my lips before bed to keep them moisturized.
Your lips don’t self-exfoliate, so you need to use a scrub to keep them exfoliated.
Tip: Using a sugar scrub once a day, especially during the dry seasons will keep
WooHoo! That was a lot of info, lol. I hope it was helpful for you.
