Beauty Editor’s Note

It is the season of pumpkin patches, apple picking, and hayrides. Guess what y’all? It’s fall!

If you are a regular listener of the Bold Blind Beauty on A.I.R. you may be familiar with the Beauty Byte segment. Some months our podcasts can be a bit meaty and we feel there’s no need for a Beauty Byte. However, this time I wanted give you a taste of a Beauty Byte in a blog post. So read on for some current trends that you might want to check out for the fall. ~Dana

Hair Color

Barbie Blonde if you are a Barbie girl living in a Barbie world hopefully you’re not made of plastic… You might want to try this hair color trend playing off this summer’s hottest movie. If you can’t make the full commitment to this color try it in highlights.

Cowboy Copper according to Pinterest this hair color trend has gone up in popularity significantly since last year. This color is a deep earthy brown with coppery red tones it is said to be favored by millennials. But, you don’t have to be a millennial in order to enjoy it.

Hairstyles

A set of three hairstyling tools (blow dryer, clippers, and flat iron).

Class is in session don’t be afraid to embrace the youthful spirit of back to school with ponytails, braids, and buns. Accent these styles with retro scrunchies, hair clips, and bows. And if this is not your thing try out bangs baby!

Short choppy locks are transformed from long locks. If you don’t want to be bothered with long hair this may be a good option for you. Remember to get a trim about every 6 weeks when going with a shorter haircut in order to maintain the cut.

The Bob with a French twist this classic style with a 1960s flare has been popping up on television shows. So you know what that means? It’s popping up in the streets. A bob looks great with highlights just saying.

Makeup

Assorted cosmetic products on a white background.

The overall trend is still reminiscent of the ’90s with extremes. Meaning extreme lashes and  eye makeup.

I believe if you do an extreme eye then you should keep the rest of the makeup look softer, to create balance. Same with a vampy dark lip keep everything else soft. I think that is the best way to present extreme looks without looking overly made up. Besides you don’t want to look like you have been trying to hard.

Nails

Assorted nail polish colors on a white background.

Chocolate brown and rustic moves are perfect nail colors to transition into fall. If you are looking for something a little bolder try teal blue to offset your fall wardrobe.
