Easy Peasy Makeup Organization
Remember your first venture into the world of makeup and how you felt after the transformation? What a rush!
I loved playing with my mom’s makeup and couldn’t wait until I was old enough to wear my own. Thanks to my mom, it was from an early age I became a fan of bright red lipstick and eyebrow stencils.
Over the years I’ve collected tons of cosmetics from foundation, eyeshadow, blush, lip color, and mascara to nail polish. Ever the organizer, I’ve used different storage methods to contain my ever-growing collection. Two of my favorites were 3-tiered hanging vegetable baskets and Caboodles makeup cases.
In recent years I’ve dramatically scaled down the amount of makeup I store. The loss of my eyesight, becoming more seasoned, and desiring less overall contributed to my decision to cutback.
Investing in a 2-piece clear acrylic makeup organizer from Amazon was the perfect answer for me. Since this unit is compact it doesn’t take up much space and it keeps everything neat and tidy in one place.
My organizer has 4 drawers (2 side by side at the top and 2 longer ones directly underneath). The inset piece that I sit on top of the drawers can actually be used as a stand alone. Total measurement is 9.5 inches wide by 5 inches deep by 7.5 inches tall.
Depending on your individual needs, makeup organization really is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3:
- Pare down by thinking in terms of essentials
- Select an organizational unit suited to your needs
- Label your cosmetics (with the date they are first opened) and/or each section on the organizer (this will enable you to readily distinguish between products and provide the discard by date)
In Googling Makeup organizers there are well over 1 million results. They can be purchased just about anywhere and they come in many different sizes, colors, types, and price points.
