Promoting Strengths | Abby’s Reflections 28

“On the loss of independence, I refocused my thinking to what I am able to do vs. what I did prior to my sight loss. For me, it boils down to choice and I choose not to view myself as dependent. Everyone possesses skills and deficiencies; I choose to promote my strengths.”

Admittedly some days are a little more challenging than others; this is life. We cannot control external factors but the good news is we can choose how we respond. The world we live in is full of possibilities.

Knowledge and resourcefulness are necessary tools to tap into unrealized opportunities. Add in a little creative thinking and anything becomes possible.

A white, teal and gray template uses the ‘Abby’s Corner’ image. Abby, sporting her signature explosive hairstyle is sitting cross-legged in her PJs (gray bottoms & white top with a gray collar). She is using her teal Abby logoed laptop with a headset/microphone and her white cane is propped up next to her.

    1. Thank you!!💕

  3. “Add in a little creative thinking and anything becomes possible.” I love that! It’s so true and I think people get stuck on thinking the same way when really there are always other ways to accomplish dreams and goals.

    1. Amen to that Camie! I have to laugh at this because I used to be one of those people, it all seems so silly now. 😆 Expanding my thinking opened the door to a whole host of opportunities.
