Abby’s Reflections #12 | Holiday Stress

Insights on Beauty & Sight Loss

“During this time of year, stress can be overwhelming but only if you choose to let it. Take time out for yourself to break away from unrealistic to-do lists and most of all keep things in perspective. Balance is key to maintaining your sanity” ~Abigale

Think about it for a moment, unless you are saving lives, creating the perfect holiday is not the most important thing in the greater scheme of things. Being here and spending quality time with family and friends should top our lists. Make fabulous memories this holiday season.

Behind Abby to her right is a teal colored Christmas tree with a gold star and ornaments. She is sporting her signature explosive hairstyle while wearing a headset with microphone and her white cane is propped up next to her. In the background are light gray snowflakes.

  1. Good advice for all year long, not just the holidays.

  2. Tell me about it. We’ve just got our furniture out of storage, now I’m trying to get ready for Christmas, get the house sorted (why are we storing so much stuff for our adult kids??) and set up my little business. And then there are the unexpected things, like the new washing machine flooding the laundry. Still, at least I managed to find the kettle yesterday.

    1. Uh, oh Heidi I think I’m having a panic attack on your behalf. I hear you though it can seem so daunting but realizing the world isn’t going to come to an end because we didn’t do this, that, or the other thing helps keep things in perspective. Many times when I convince myself I can’t stop I end up burning myself out, getting sick and then having to rebuild. Whereas if I would have taken a break or breaks I’d probably be much better off. I hope everything works out for you, it sounds like you have your hands full.
