A Lil’ Inspiration #28

Accidental Beauty Is The Best!

I'm not sure how many deer are in this photo because they blend in so well with the trees.

Beauty in all its forms can be so breathtaking. Stumbling upon it totally by accident is sublime. There is absolutely no way I could have captured these photos had I planned it.

So this morning as I was walking Mollie, my furkid, I happened upon a huge moving blur. Now because I’m 97% coward and 3% human my initial response was to run. I mean my keen sense of detection picked up that Molliekins and I were in imminent danger and the only way to save our skins was to get the heck outta dodge.

Collage of two images of several deer with a couple looking directly at the camera. Collage of three images of several deer.

Well after I calmed myself a bit my curiosity got the better of me so real stealthy like I hid behind a car, pointed my camera phone in the direction of the beast and shot. One of the problems one encounters when you can’t see and you encounter a stranger in your environment is not knowing what “it” is. My first thought was to magnify but with the sun at my back my screen was black so I just kept shooting. So what a surprise when I come inside and see I caught a gang of deer pretending to be trees. I guess I scared them as much as they scared me.

Happy Friday!!!

  1. They don’t look too worried, more surprised! Great pics 🙂

    1. Thanks. When I got inside and was able to see the pictures I couldn’t help but laugh at my dumb luck. Poor things were probably wondering what strange type of creature I was.😅

  2. Wow! Beautiful Steph.
    XxX

  3. I must admit that I never thought about how things like this would be scary for you. You were very brave to stay and take pictures. They came out great! I love to see deer. They are such graceful animals.

    1. Deer are so beautiful. I wouldn’t consider myself brave and in the corner of my mind I was thinking worst case scenario I’d jump on my brother’s car. When I showed him the pics after the fact he couldn’t believe how well they turned out and was laughing at the deer looking at me.

      1. At least you had an escape plan in place. 😉

      2. Yeah, although my sibling woulda strangled me for denting his vehicle.😅

  4. Such great pic’s Steph !!! Wow !!! That must have been a bit scary…

    1. Thanks Lynne. It was scary and I know I have a tendency to be a bit over-dramatic but hey, it makes life interesting.

      1. Hahaha well, we have got to do what we have got to do, to make life interesting 🙂 I am with you 100%. Have an awesome day !

      2. You too Lynne!🙂

  5. You did great, those are gorgeous!

    1. Thank you so much Diane! If I were intentional I know they wouldn’t have turned out like this.

  6. What a great experience! Some amazing pictures, as well.

    1. Thanks George!! I think Mollie and the deer were wondering what my issue was but I really couldn’t understand what was happening and of course because I love to over exaggerate, I was thinking the deer was a bear or wolf or something equally dangerous. Oddly enough it took Mollie a while to react so I as at least able to hold my phone still while shooting the pics. Maybe I should always take photos this way. 😅

      1. You mentioned bears, not me. We have black bears in Florida. An elderly lady was bitten on the derrière by one. In defense of the bear, she was chasing it with an umbrella!

      2. Hahaha, I’m sorry but this struck me as funny. But seriously if I ran into a bear I’d probably just drop dead on the spot.

      3. I thought it was funny, too! What was she thinking? Most mammals are peaceful unless starving or provoked.

  7. Great shots, lovely post. I like the phrase “accidental beauty.”
