A Lil’ Inspiration #11 Ashley

Image Matters To All

Image is described in the body of the post.In an effort to help the general public re-evaluate some of the misconceptions concerning people who live with blindness/sight loss, today’s quote from Ashley Nemeth of Blind Moving On speaks to the issue of personal care. I have many friends who are not only adept at applying makeup and dressing stylishly but they can do so without sight and the need for mirrors. For clarification purposes, there are also many of us who use our residual vision to take advantage of regular or magnifying mirrors—it’s a matter of preference.

I want to be taken seriously and my vision does not affect my ability to do things like wear matching clothes and put makeup on. I love a shopping and getting my nails done. ~Ashley Nemeth | www.blindmovingon.com

  1. Hmmm I was going to say what David said too…many sighted people could use some guidance in their choices of makeup and fashion…then again freedom of expression right? As long as that’s what’s going on… 😉

    1. Now, now David let’s play nice. Lol, my son made a similar observation the other day. Pittsburgh isn’t known for being a fashionable city (we rank very low in this category) but he couldn’t get over all the business people who look so bland. Thank you as always for coming by and leaving me such a nice compliment. Hugs right back at ya xoxoxo
