Shoe Lovin’ Saturdays: Weigh In #8

Exercise…It does a body good!

I’m working really hard to control my excitement today because I’ve uploaded my very first video YAY!!! A couple of quick comments before you view the video, #1. I am not and never have been a videographer, #2. I added photos at the end that I request you ignore as in hindsight I’d rather post them here.

There is a picture of my nemesis, the universal gym, of whom I will be getting more intimately acquainted with due to miniscule (0.8 lb.) weight gain over the past week. I’ve held out as long as possible but it’s time now to kick it up a notch. In addition, I started doing modified push-ups, crunches and planks that I will steadily increase to twice daily.

Today’s weigh in is 155.4 pounds and the good news is I lost another half-inch off my hips.

Here’s todays’ total numbers:

  • Weight:                minus 10.6 pounds
  • Thighs                  minus 5 inches
  • Arms:                   minus 1 inches
  • Bust:                     minus 1 inches
  • Waist:                   minus 4 inches
  • Hips:                     minus 3 inches

Another source of delight was the receipt of my newest addition to my shoe collection. The lovely mint colored Qupid Pointer-56 Suede Pointy Toe Flat from arrived on Thursday and they are so much prettier in real life. I don’t think any photo could do them justice. If you recall I was going on and on about these shoes last week.

Going forward it is my hope to be able to post at least one video per week and I’m really looking forward to starting makeup tutorials. Until that time I will continue to learn how to edit and enhance my videos. Stay tuned!!

Have a great weekend!!

  1. I say throw out that scale. I say a lot of things, but I really believe that we get so tied to a number – – every morning it becomes “All Hail to The Scale!” I wrote a post about a scale that doesn’t tell you what you weigh, only whether you’ve gained or lost. That way you don’t get so married to being a certain number. And that’s only if you absolutely MUST monitor your weight for health reasons. Anyhow, now that I got that out of my system, this is a great video you’ve made Steph and you have C-H-A-R-I-S-M-A coming out of your pores. Not sweat, just charisma! 😉 Looking forward to more in this realm. ps. Has anyone ever told you that you have a voice that should be in broadcasting????

    1. I just threw out a scale a few months ago b/c it got to the point I had to use the magnifier on my phone with the lights out to read the numbers. Once I got a fix on the readout it upset me so that I told my son with a it of dramatic flair to remove it from my sight. So then what do I do? I buy a talking scale and not only does it talk, there’s no volume adjustment so it sounds like it’s shouting (for all the world to hear) how much I weigh.

Thank you for the compliment on my first video attempt. After procrastinating 🙁 for, geez I don’t know how long I just went for it. Never been told my voice was a broadcasting voice but you should hear my truly “professional” voice over the phone. My colleagues used to marvel at how good I was at getting into my phone persona and even my kids find it hilarious that when they were younger I would be yelling at them, yet as soon as the phone rang you’d have thought I was in the office. I think it’s a gift 🙂 that I have so much fun with.

  2. Congrats. Inches are more important to monitor. You are doing a great job. Everyone’s weight fluctuates by about 2 pounds from day to day.. water, lymphatic, toxins etc.. so don’t worry about the small numbers. I really wish I could use the elliptical/treadmill again and do weights at my gym. Not recommended with EDS, so swimming and walking/hiking are what I do. Spring is so much easier too. best wishes

    1. Thanks Jess. I wish I knew how to swim but now at this stage I’m too afraid of the water. And someone else was telling me about the inches as well so I’m trying not to focus on the numbers.

  3. This is great, love the video, before you know it you’ll be an expert and creating them. I think this is a great medium for you. Its suites you, you’re very warm and engaging…. keep going with this, if this is instinct calling 🙂 then go with it…

    1. Thaks Dina. Yeah it’s that scary ole instinct 😉

  4. Congrats on your first video upload!! You’ve got quite a challenging workout. I have discovered that I need to pick up the pace to reach my next goal.

    1. I think I may have plateaued. Just when I was getting the hang of it I have to work harder.
