Thrifty Thursdays

The day after Christmas can be as hectic as the day before with people swarming the stores to return/exchange gifts and to take advantage of the sales. I have to say that while sale offers abound there is nothing that can tempt me out of the comfort of my apartment and so I scour the internet in search of the latest deals.

With some stores offering upwards of 50% or more to clear out their winter stock, the savvy shopper can score some awesome purchases. Since Autumn I’ve been looking for a cardigan and unfortunately the one I wanted from the GAP was sold out so today I found one at Express for $24.95 that I can pair with a Tee or Tank Top, jeans, boots, add a scarf and I’m good to go.

Speaking of boots I had my eye on some real cute sort of Victorian style lace ups and while they’re stylish they wouldn’t be very functional for wear in snow or ice. So, as luck would have it, I came upon a pair at www.6pm.com and with 69% off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $159 for a final price of $49.99 I’m sold. Oh and did I mention that shipping is free at 6pm.com? Well it’s always free and this is incentive enough for me to keep going back to this online retailer for my occasional shoe fix. Just about all of their clearance items are up to 80% off so it’s definitely worth a looksee.

For makeup, skincare, bath & body needs check out Sephora. They are offering 3 free samples with any purchase and in addition free 3-day shipping with a purchase over $50. I didn’t find out till recently that Sephora sells bareMinerals and I can honestly say out of all the mineral makeup I’ve used I really like this brand. Application is easy, the makeup is sheer, and the outcome is so natural.
